01 — Licences

Four ways to buy a beat.

What changes is what you take home: from the mp3 alone up to multitracks with exclusivity. The full terms of each licence are the ones BeatStars shows at checkout, before payment.

Basic Lease $39.99 mp3, not for sale
Standard Lease $59.99 wav + mp3
most useful Premium Lease $99.99 wav + mp3 + stems
Exclusive $599.99 + multitracks, leaves the store

Why Premium is worth it

Stems are the difference between using a beat and working with it: you can pull an instrument under the verse, rebuild the chorus, have someone else mix the track. Without stems, whoever mixes your song gets one solid block and can do very little.

What exclusivity actually does

The beat comes off the store and nobody else can buy it. Licences already sold beforehand stay valid — that's how it works everywhere, and it's worth knowing up front: exclusivity stops the future, it doesn't erase the past.

Ads, film and TV need something else

A beat licence covers your release as an artist. If the music ends up under a brand video, a commercial or a series, you need a sync licence — a different contract, and one we handle. How sync works →

02 — Sample & loops

Packs played, not assembled.

Guitars, bass and keys recorded in the studio and cut into loops ready to drop into a session. Each pack opens on BeatStars. The Free Pack costs nothing and is made to the same standard as the rest.

03 — Questions

The ones we always get.

What's the difference between a lease and exclusivity?

With a lease the beat stays on sale and others can buy it; with exclusivity it comes off the store and you also get the multitracks. In between, what mainly changes is what you download: mp3, wav, stems. The exact terms are shown at BeatStars checkout before you pay.

Can I release on Spotify and YouTube?

Yes, that's the normal use of these licences. The finer conditions — where you can release and within what limits — are written in the licence you buy: they're shown at checkout and stay in your purchase email, which is worth keeping.

Do I have to credit the production?

Credit is required by the licence, and it serves both sides anyway: whoever hears your track and looks for the producer finds us, and people who find us often go looking for you. The correct form is "prod. Tatomi — Audiophonic Arts Studio".

Are the loops in the packs royalty-free?

The loops are played and recorded by us, so there's no third-party sample to clear: you can use them in your productions under the pack's licence. If the track that comes out of it ends up in an ad or a film, that's a sync and gets handled separately.

Can I ask for a custom beat?

Yes, and it's a different job from a store purchase: it starts from your reference and the track gets built around your idea. Custom music →

The player won't load: how do I buy?

It's almost always an adblocker stopping the embedded player. Open the store directly on BeatStars and everything works: beatstars.com/audiophonic ↗
